We have been working long and hard to make sure our business is held to the standard of our accolades. As such, our A+ rating with the BBB is a moment of pride for us. So, why not take a moment in today’s blog to talk about these accolades and our commitment to the community. We live by the creed to stay humble, but there is nothing wrong with a little self-promotion, right? Let’s dig in.
Prestige Door and Our History
Here at Prestige Door, we pride ourselves on being a family-owned and operated business. Based out of Uniontown, Ohio, we have been in business since December 2, 2018. Over that time, we have completed over 3,000 projects and served 108 different areas in Northeastern Ohio. We started small, with father and son duo Scott and Kevin Slutzker handling projects. Since then, we have expanded, adding Jeremy to our operation and increasing the number of calls we can handle at any given time.
We chose the name Prestige Door because of the Step Brother’s movie, “Prestige Worldwide“! Our goal was to choose a name that customers would associate with high quality and “best in class” service. We aim to offer prestige-worthy service to our customers and take pride in offering second-to-none garage door repair and installation services. And since you can’t predict when your garage door breaks, we offer 24/7 emergency services. Whenever you need us, we will be there. And don’t expect to be gouged. Our promise to you includes fair pricing, honest workmanship, and exceptional value.
One of the things we strive for here at Prestige Door is to be recognized as a trustworthy business in the community. As garage door repair experts, we have a responsibility to our community. And the best way to earn trust is to demonstrate trustworthiness, if not through our work than through our recognitions. Back in the beginning when we first got started, we were doing a lot of our business through Home Advisor and Angie’s List. As a result, many of our first accolades came from those two companies.
Our Home Advisor Accolades in Writing
Home Advisor started by providing us with a Home Advisor Screened seal of approval! Home Advisor uses an extensive screening process to screen businesses and contractors. Every business that joins the Home Advisor network must go through this process. The screening includes background checks on the owner or principal of the business. It also covers checks for proper licensing, state business filings, ratings, and corporate accounts. Here at Prestige Door, we were happy to submit to – and pass – the Home Advisor screening process.
Over the years, Home Advisor has come to trust Prestige Door as a top-notch garage door repair and installation company in the NE Ohio corridor. That’s why after passing our screening, we were awarded the Home Advisor Top Rated Professional rating. By last year we had received the Home Advisor Best of 2020 rating. Home Advisor’s best of ratings are calculated using ratings and reviews provided by actual customers. Their criteria includes:
- Superior work practices and best assistance
- Consistently earned verified ratings and reviews
- Maintained an average rating of 4.0 or better
- Absolutely zero customer complaints
We were super proud to be listed as one of Home Advisor’s Best Of companies, especially after only being in business for two years. Yet, the accolades did not stop there. Not long after we were awarded the Home Advisor Elite Service badge. Elite Service Pros have a minimum of five reviews with a five-star rating and maintain an overall customer service rating of four-and-a-half or better. To earn this badge, participating companies must have reviews from homeowners they have done work for and no outstanding complaints in the last six months.
Our Angie’s List and BBB Accolades
Although Home Advisor is owned by Angie’s List (now Angi), they operate a separate review and rating system from each other. Back when we first started, Angie’s List was a major resource for us, both for new clients, and for recognition of the job we do. That’s why we were proud to receive the Angie’s List Super Service Award in 2020! Angie’s List Super Service Award 2020 winners have met strict eligibility requirements, which include maintaining an exceptional rating in overall grade, recent grade, and review period grade. They must also be in good standing with Angie’s List and undergo additional screening.
But the best was yet to come. Of course, registering the Better Business Beareu (BBB) was one of the first steps we took as a fledgling business. But if you know anything about the BBB, it takes time and an excellent record to achieve a BBB A+ rating. But with perseverance, we did it! The BBB provides ranking on businesses within their network based on the following factors:
- Complaint history with the BBB
- Type of business
- Time in business
- Transparent business practices
- Failure to honor commitments to BBB
- Licensing and government action known to BBB
- Advertising issues known to BBB
BBB essentially provides weighted scores against each of these factors. Over time, how a business does in these weightings will determine its rating. And we are super proud of our A+.
So, what’s next for Prestige Door of NE Ohio? Well, we are currently growing our business and expanding. Where once we were a father/son duo, we have now added a new member to our team.
